Hi


The documentation talks about going to Accounting - Configuration - Accounting and Financial Budgets - but that menu option has vanished.

I can find and create a Financial Budget (not an Analytical budget) under Reporting - Profit and Loss and create budget... but that is a very tedious way of entering a budget...so how/where in V19 do you upload a Financial Budget?

The Menu is available in Developer Mode.

The best way to learn how to import something into Odoo is to export a record first, and use this file as a template.

Here is an example file that can be used as a guide:

You can see that the NAME of the budget is in the first column, then the DATE, ACCOUNT and AMOUNT. Revenue is negative, Expenses are positive.


When you have your import file, visit the Accounting --> Configuration --> Accounting -> Financial Budgets Menu (1) and click Import Records (2):


Browse to your import file and check that the columns in your file map correctly to the corresponding Odoo field:


You then end up with a Budget like this:


Which when used on the Profit and Loss report will look like this:

Hi,

In Odoo 19, the menu path for Financial Budgets has changed, and there's a clearer distinction between Analytic and Financial Budgets. The previous "Accounting - Configuration - Accounting and Financial Budgets" option is no longer available.

Analytic Budgets, used for tracking expenses and income by specific projects or departments, are configured by first enabling "Budget Management" in Accounting > Configuration > Settings > Analytics. Afterward, you can create and manage them under Accounting > Accounting > Analytic Budgets.

For Financial Budgets, which are tied directly to general ledger accounts for financial reporting, the process has shifted. You now configure these directly within the Profit and Loss report. To do this, navigate to Accounting > Reporting > Profit and Loss, select your desired period, and then click the "Budget" button. This action adds a new column to the report, allowing you to enter budget amounts for each account.

Regarding the upload of Financial Budgets, Odoo 19 does not provide a dedicated import feature for them. The standard method for setting Financial Budgets is through direct entry within the Profit and Loss report interface, as described above.
