Objective

To integrate the entire value chain — from raw materials to customer delivery — into a single platform in order to ensure traceability, data consistency, and operational efficiency, while also increasing team autonomy.

Challenge

Before implementing Odoo, Fernand Obb faced several challenges:

  • Fragmented tools for sales, stock, production, and invoicing

  • Manual management of recipes and ingredients

  • Difficult traceability for fresh and frozen products

  • Invoicing not aligned with quantities actually delivered

  • Poorly structured product and supplier data, limiting usability

Solution

The Odoo project was structured around 5 core pillars, covering all business flows:

  1. Sales & delivery management

    • Centralized order intake in Odoo

    • Automated integration with stock forecasts

    • Invoicing based on actual delivered quantities

    • Weekly delivery routes tracked via internal drivers

  2. Production & recipes

    • Bill of materials created for finished, semi-finished, and raw products

    • Special handling of rest phases, waste, and reusable portions

    • Automatic labeling with batch number, expiry date, ingredients, allergens

  3. Inventory & traceability

    • Fresh and frozen stock areas tracked by lot number

    • Automated replenishment based on min/max rules

    • FEFO strategy for picking (First Expired, First Out)

  4. Purchasing & supplier workflows

    • Purchase rules set by product and supplier

    • Automated generation of purchase orders based on workshop needs

    • Mass supplier invoicing tied to incoming shipments

  5. Data structuring

    • Full redesign of product databases, units of measure, contacts, and labels

    • Unified data structure, ready for use in analytics, documents, and operations

Results

  • Synchronized production and distribution flows

  • Structured inventory with traceability for both fresh and frozen goods

  • Automated invoicing aligned with deliveries

  • Full traceability: batches, expiry dates, ingredients, allergens
