We communicate with customers on eg. stock.pickings chatter. We add them to the chatter and they reply to the email. The email is added to the chatter of the stock picking. But we didn't found a way to get a notification for this. Is there some configuration or OCA module to get a notification to see it as soon as the customer answers? or a list view to be able to see all the new mails from today. It's very important to see them timely.


We know it's in the discuss history but this is cluttered and not really helpful.

Actually, this is a common requirement in Odoo. The notification behavior depends on how the user is following the document and their notification settings.
​To fix this for your team, please check these 3 things:
​Followers List: First, ensure that the users who need notifications are actually added as 'Followers' on the specific Stock Picking record. Just click on the 'Followers' widget in the chatter and add them.
​Subtype Settings: When you add a follower (or edit an existing one), click the pencil icon next to their name. Make sure the 'Discussions' or 'Messages' checkbox is ticked. If only 'Activities' is checked, they won't get a notification for a simple chatter reply.
​User Preferences: Ask the users to go to their Settings > User Preferences. Under the 'Notifications' field:
​If they select 'Handle in Odoo', they will see the notification on the clock/message icon in the top bar.
​If they select 'Handle by Email', Odoo will send them an actual email whenever someone replies in the chatter.

​Pro-Tip: If you are on Odoo v16 or v17, tell your team to keep the 'Discuss' app open in a separate tab. It’s the fastest way to track all incoming chatter replies across all modules without missing anything

Hello Nikolaus Weingartmair,
I hope you are doing well

Root cause: Odoo skips notifications for followers whose email is in the To/CC of the incoming reply assuming they already got it directly.
Fix: Ensure outgoing chatter emails use the catchall/alias address as From (not individual user emails), so customer replies go only to the Odoo alias. Configure under 
Settings ->Technical ->Email ->Alias Domains.
