Hello Odoo family,

I have an email subscription with Microsoft 365 with multiple SHARED email addresses (sales, sourcing, logistics, info, finance etc), and I want to use Odoo as main communication channel for our customers and vendors. I want to create a lead in CRM when I received email via sales@ or send invoice to our customer via finance@ etc..

I have tried to utilize these shared email addresses through Microsoft Azure (outlook connection) as incoming and outgoing servers but didn't work. 


What is best approach to overcome this challenge and utilize shared email features in Microsoft using my domain and Odoo 19 .sh?

Hello, 

Yes, this setup is possible in Odoo 19.sh, but Microsoft 365 shared mailboxes usually require additional configuration compared to standard user mailboxes.

The recommended approach is:

  • Configure each shared mailbox properly in Microsoft 365 with delegated permissions
  • Use Microsoft Azure OAuth authentication instead of basic SMTP/IMAP authentication
  • Create separate incoming/outgoing mail servers or aliases in Odoo for departments like sales@, finance@, logistics@, etc.
  • Configure Odoo mail aliases and routing rules so emails automatically create CRM leads, invoices, helpdesk tickets, etc.

In many cases, the issue comes from Azure app permissions or shared mailbox access rights rather than Odoo itself.
