Hi,

We have try to figure out why Reordering rules generate RFQ's for the product has just ordered (but not received yet) and amount is more than max amount in rules?

For example following product. There is Delivery Lead time 75 days

Reordering rules have min 15, max 45 and trigger is auto

And in Forecasts shows that on hand is 7pcs and 30pcs has ordered, total 37pcs. So why it make RFQ with 60pcs and not 30pcs?

Does it take into count already ordered but not yet received items?

Yes, Odoo should normally consider incoming quantities, but the key is *when* those incoming quantities are expected compared with the demand / visibility window.

In your example:

- On hand: 7
- Incoming PO: 30
- Min: 15
- Max: 45
- Delivery lead time: 75 days

The first thing I would check is the forecast view date line, not only the total incoming quantity. If the 30 pcs are expected later than the replenishment need date, Odoo may still see a shortage inside the replenishment window and create another RFQ.

Check these points:

1. Open the product forecast report and look at the timeline.
Do not only check the final total. Check the dates of:
   - outgoing demand
   - incoming PO
   - generated RFQ / replenishment proposal

2. Check the reordering rule’s visibility days.
If Odoo is looking far enough ahead to see demand but the incoming PO arrives too late, it may propose more stock.

3. Check vendor lead time.
With a 75-day lead time, Odoo may be planning earlier than expected because it is trying to cover future demand before the next receipt date.

4. Check if the RFQ quantity is being rounded by:
   - vendor minimum quantity
   - packaging
   - multiple quantity
   - UoM conversion

5. Confirm whether there are sales/manufacturing needs beyond what is visible in the screenshot.
Reordering rules calculate from forecasted quantity, not only current on-hand stock.

The practical test: in the forecast report, compare the shortage date with the expected receipt date of the 30 pcs. If the receipt comes after the shortage date, Odoo is not “ignoring” the PO — it is treating it as too late.

We work on Odoo replenishment/forecasting at Niyu Labs, and this is exactly the kind of case where the timeline matters more than the final quantity number. If you share the forecast report timeline, the answer should be clear pretty quickly.
