Short answer: linking the account does NOT require you to pre-create every product, but the order import behaves differently depending on whether the SKU already exists in Odoo.

Here's the typical flow:

1) You authorize the account (SP-API) and pick your marketplace(s).

2) On first sync the connector imports orders from a start date you choose (so set that, otherwise it may try to pull a huge backlog).

3) For each order line, the connector matches the Amazon seller SKU to an Odoo product's internal reference. If it finds it, the sale order line uses that product. If it doesn't, a well-built connector will auto-create a placeholder product (or let you map it) so the order still imports rather than failing.

4) Stock/price sync is a separate direction you enable per product, so you don't need products configured first just to receive orders, but you DO need them mapped if you want clean inventory and accounting.

So a sensible order of operations: set the import start date -> let orders come in -> map/clean up the auto-created products -> then turn on stock + price export once mapping is solid.

There isn't a single official A-to-Z Odoo video because the native Amazon connector is Enterprise-only and fairly bare; most people stitch it together from the docs.
