For every batch of our product, there are six stages of processing activities. The complete product life cycle lasts 24 days, and different operations take place on different days of the product processing cycle. Each process in a process life cycle occurs on a certain day; for example, operation A occurs on the first day, operation B for all batches occurs on the fifth day, and so on. A batch can begin on any day of the month and consists of a random number of products. There are eight or ten batches operating at any given moment. Which Odoo module can provide me with a daily production activity report? 

This will make it easier for me to ask operators at various stages of operation to work on certain batches of products and perform specific process activities. Can we develop such a system utilising the Odoo platform if a program has the ability to start a new batch on any given day and its activity occurs on that day?

Hi,

Yes, this is achievable in Odoo using the Manufacturing module with a few features combined:

Module to use: Manufacturing (mrp)

  • Work Centers + Routings: Define your 6 stages as operations in a routing, each assigned to a specific day offset from the production start date. Odoo schedules each operation based on the planned start date of the manufacturing order.
  • Batch Production / Manufacturing Orders: Each batch becomes a Manufacturing Order (MO). Since batches can start on any day, the scheduled dates for each operation shift accordingly; Odoo calculates them automatically based on the routing.
  • Daily Activity Report: Use Manufacturing > Reporting > Overall Equipment Effectiveness or build a custom filter in Work Orders view, filtered by Scheduled Date = today. This gives operators a view of exactly which operations are due on any given day across all active batches.

For a cleaner daily dispatch list, go to Manufacturing > Work Orders, group by Work Center, and filter by Scheduled Date = today. This acts as your daily production activity report per operator/stage.

If you need a printable or automated daily report, a simple Scheduled Action can email the filtered work orders each morning, or you can use Odoo Studio to create a custom report without development.

This covers your use case natively without custom modules.
