Founded in 1983, Mekanik Strip began as a small specialty shop dedicated to comics and mechanical toys - the origin of its name. Over four decades later, it has grown into one of the largest and most influential comic and pop-culture retailers in Europe. Based in Belgium, the store offers an unparalleled assortment of European comics, US comics, manga, graphic novels, toys, collectibles, and related merchandise, making it a landmark destination for enthusiasts and collectors across the continent.

The Challenge

As Mekanik Strip expanded its catalog to tens of thousands of SKUs across comics, manga, merchandise, and collectibles, the company faced increasing complexity in managing its inventory and sales workflows. Ensuring accurate stock levels for fast-moving and constantly changing products (including pre-orders, limited editions, and imports) required a system far more robust than their existing tools. They needed centralized product management, streamlined point-of-sale and online ordering processes, and reliable traceability across physical and digital sales channels. Maintaining operational efficiency while preserving their vast offering became a central challenge.

dear digital implemented Odoo as Mekanik Strip’s new unified operational backbone, providing an integrated platform for inventory management, sales, and product catalog administration. Odoo’s centralized database allowed Mekanik Strip to manage its extensive assortment more efficiently, maintaining accurate stock levels and streamlining replenishment. The platform enabled smoother sales operations by integrating in-store and online channels, ensuring consistent product data and real-time availability.
