Project Overview:

Technova partnered with NIRAN to upgrade their ERP system from Odoo v15 to Odoo v18, enhancing their control over inventory, procurement, and financial visibility. Given the nature of their business — bulk importing, storing, and repackaging of coal and firewood — we configured the system to handle lot-based tracking, unit of measure conversions, and controlled stock movements across warehouses.

A unique requirement was reverse production flows, where imported raw materials (e.g., coal in tons) are unbuilt into packaged products (e.g., smaller sacks or bundles). To support this, the Odoo Unbuild module was activated and customized to match their operational flow — allowing the team to accurately track the breakdown of raw stock into multiple finished product variants.

Negative stock restrictions were also applied to prevent over-commitment, and VAT setup was reviewed to ensure full compliance with UAE regulations. The system was thoroughly tested in a staging environment, and all historical data—including inventory balances, customer records, and transaction history—was migrated smoothly during the upgrade.
