How to modify down payment Invoicing in sales

Question

I want to add regular invoice inside down payment invoicing, I tried many ways but, I couldn't come to the desired conclusion, I want to combine regular invoice items with down payment invoice. Can anyone help me in implementing that as I've found the file to be changed is sale_make_invoice_advance inside sale and function is create_invoice()

I just want to show regular invoice on down payment invoice and I just want to show down payment amount on the area where total is written in invoice.
