We want to roll the portal out to our customers so they can log on and see their invoices. Out of the box the portal does not display the customer order reference. Is it an easy task for this to be added. Would anyone have any instructions or guidance on how to achieve this.

Hi,
Please add the following XML code to your custom module and install it. Once installed, the Customer Reference field will be available on the portal.

<odoo>
    <template id="portal_my_invoices_inherit_ref"
              inherit_id="account.portal_my_invoices"
              name="Portal My Invoices: Customer Reference">

        <!-- Add header column after "Invoice Date" -->

            <th>Customer Ref</th>
        </xpath>

        <!-- Add body cell after the invoice_date cell -->

Yes, this can be done easily by adding the following code in your custom module.

Inherit the portal_my_invoices template and add the Customer Reference column:


<template id="portal_my_invoices_inherit_ref" inherit_id="account.portal_my_invoices">
    <xpath expr="//th[@name='amount_due']" position="after">
        <th name="customer_ref" class="text-end pe-3">Customer Reference</th>
    </xpath>
    <xpath expr="//td[@name='invoice_status']" position="before">
        <td class="text-end pe-3">
            <span t-out="invoice.ref"/>
        </td>
    </xpath>

</template>


This uses invoice.ref which is the native Customer Reference field on the invoice. No extra computation needed.

Portal users will now see the Customer Reference column on their invoice list.
