Can anyone share where they started when implementing the HR modules?

Was it importing as much employee data as possible into the Employee module for example?

Hi,

When implementing Odoo's HR modules, a common starting point is the Employee module, but the data import approach varies. A phased approach, starting with minimal employee data (name, job title, department, contact info, manager) and focusing on core functionality (Time Off, Attendances, Appraisals), is recommended. Gradually enrich the data with skills, certifications, and emergency contacts as you use the modules.

Alternatively, a comprehensive data import involves gathering, cleansing, and importing all employee data at once. Consider data quality, mapping, volume, training, and compliance. The phased approach suits those wanting a quick start and gradual implementation, while comprehensive import is for those with clear data requirements and a desire for a complete migration. Start with a test database, use Odoo's import tool, consider a custom script for complex transformations, and consult an Odoo partner if needed.
