Is there a way to revive a lead that was turned into an opportunity? When I convert leads into opportunities they disappear from the lead screen and you cannot see them anymore, even after playing with the filters under advanced search.

Yes, because the lead now become opportunity so instead search in lead menu, you have to search in opportunities menu..
You can't convert opportunities back to lead, so if you want to turned the opportunity back to lead.. i suggest to mark lost the opp. and make a new lead..
