I am working with odoo 19 and I want to change the package of the fiscal localization from "Generic Chart of Accounts" to "🇸🇳 Senegal - SYSCOHADA for Companies".

As I had some sales done in the pos I deleted all journal entries and I modified the name and the address of the default company to Senegal and also the currency to "XOF".

I have already the fiscal localization package of Senegal installed.

so here the problem is when I try now to change the package it display this warning below.

The error means some POS payment records still exist and are linked to the old payment method.

Deleting journal entries is not enough because Odoo still has records in:

pos.payment

linked through:

payment_method_id

Best options:

  1. Archive the old payment method instead of deleting it.

  2. If it is a test database, delete/reset the related POS orders and POS payments.

  3. Best clean solution: create a new database with Senegal SYSCOHADA localization from the start.

Changing localization after POS transactions is not recommended.
