i have lost control of the site and it is not in my data base and i cant log in to the site. i tried to reset password but when i press the reset link it just brings me back to login.

Hi,
Where is your odoo instance configured ? If you forget the credentials and not able to reset it from the UI, try resetting it from postgres directly.
