To make List View as default, open your XML view file and search for the View Id you are looking for.

There you'll find something like

<field name="view_mode">kanban,form,tree</field>

(for Kanban, Form & List views respectively).

You need to change the sequence of the views as per your requirement, then restart the server and upgrade the module.

Now if you check your view page it has been changed accordingly. Try this and give your feedback.
