I'm trying to import some GL journals using v14, through the "journal entries, import a file" option, and receiving a bunch of errors. There is no clear guideline I can see as to which fields I need to be importing into. I only have a limited number of fields in my spreadsheet:

- external transaction ID

- account name

- date

- transaction reference

- debit amount

- credit amount

Can someone advise which of the many fields available these should be mapped to please? The biggest issue I seem to be having is the "account" field - I tried Journal Items/Account (message saying this was ambiguous); /Journal Items/Account/Database ID (no matching record found message for all lines); /Journal Items/Account/External ID (same message).

Update - I have now edited the value in the account column of my spreadsheet to include both the code AND the description. Now, however, when I try to do a test import I get the following message for each line:

Unknown error during import: : Cannot create unbalanced journal entry.

I have debits and credits on separate lines, and the ID for the debit and credit lines are the same.
