Georgian Gas Transportation Company

Georgian Gas Transportation Company (GGTC) is a state-owned enterprise established on December 30, 1999, responsible for the transportation and transit of natural gas across Georgia. Operating under a permanent license (Series 22, No. 004, Decision No. 21/0, dated December 10, 2009), GGTC ensures the uninterrupted and secure delivery of natural gas to domestic consumers and facilitates transit to neighboring countries, including Armenia.

GGTC’s core operations include maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the main gas pipeline network, monitoring gas flow, maintaining operational stability, and promptly identifying and resolving any issues that could lead to gas loss. The company is committed to high standards of safety and efficiency, employing modern technologies and equipment to manage Georgia’s gas transportation infrastructure.

GGTC is owned by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC), which holds 25% of its shares. GOGC plays a strategic role in ensuring national energy security and oversees the operation of Georgia’s main gas pipeline system.

As the only company in Georgia licensed on a permanent basis to transport natural gas, GGTC plays a critical role in the country’s energy sector. It holds exclusive rights under the Law of Georgia on Electricity and Natural Gas to perform gas transportation activities.

GGTC operates in full compliance with Georgian legislation, following the provisions of:

• the Law of Georgia on Electricity and Natural Gas,

• the Rules for Technical Operation of Main Gas Pipelines,

• the Rules for Safe Operation of Main Gas Pipelines, and

• the Natural Gas Market Rules.
