If you want to charge cards entirely automatically, select one of the online payment providers that support tokenization: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/master/developer/howtos/discover_js_framework/02_odoo_web_framework.html
I recommend going with Stripe. You can create your account in a few clicks from the config page of Stripe in Odoo.

Does this answer a scenario where the customer has given me permission to charge his credit card monthly, but there is no need for me to enter the credit token every month that I need to charge the customer?
