Are you sure that renaming the module folder is a good idea? Is it necessary? 

Anyway, you can check if the new module adds new user groups. If so, you must assign the proper groups to the proper users. Sometimes the module is installed, but you don't have access to it.

The user interface changes will depends on the functionalities introduced by the module. Does the module add any menus from it ? If yes, then we can check for the menus in the added path.

If it just brings changes only in some views, we have to go to that view and see if the changes got reflected or not.

You can do as follows:

1. Open your app from the apps menu in debug mode
2. See Installed Features Page
