Project Overview:
Technova partnered with The Armored Group to upgrade their ERP platform from Odoo v16 to Odoo v18 as part of their ongoing digital transformation initiative. The upgrade was designed not just to leverage the latest features in Odoo but to re-engineer core workflows around manufacturing, inventory, and costing.
A custom manufacturing workflow was introduced, involving a controlled two-step picking and receiving process. Materials are first picked from warehouses, then received into a dedicated production staging area before being consumed — ensuring full traceability and accuracy throughout the build process.
Lot and serial number tracking were activated across both components and finished vehicles, enhancing traceability and compliance with industry requirements. The upgrade also included the deployment of the actual cost (batch costing) method, allowing TAG to calculate accurate per-unit manufacturing costs — including all direct and indirect inputs.
To preserve data integrity, Technova handled the upgrade with minimal downtime and ensured that historical transactions, stock balances, and serial/lot information were fully reconciled and carried forward into the upgraded system.
