Madhu’s partnered with Thoughtlogik to evaluate their fragmented operational systems and recommend a scalable digital platform. After a consulting engagement and process review, Thoughtlogik delivered a tailored Odoo MVP that demonstrated how Odoo could unify their restaurant and catering operations. The MVP included venue and event booking, quotation workflows, inventory control, and HR features — addressing their immediate and future business needs. 

Impressed by the MVP’s fit and flexibility, Madhu’s selected Odoo for a full rollout, replacing manual processes and disjointed systems with a comprehensive, cloud-based ERP solution. 

Before Odoo, Madhu’s relied on spreadsheets, legacy apps, and isolated tools for managing bookings, HR, finance, and inventory. As the business grew in complexity, they needed a centralized platform to automate key processes, enhance visibility, and ensure seamless coordination across departments. 

 

Key Challenges 

  • Unstructured inventory and procurement workflows, particularly across kitchens, bars, and event venues leading to significant stock discrepancies and even missing/stolen goods estimated at over £2 million. 

  • No systematised management of event picking lists, making food and equipment preparation for events error-prone and time-consuming. 

  • Lack of a rental workflow to manage event equipment such as cutleries, crockeries, AV systems, and kitchen units, which are often hired internally across venues. 

  • No employee self-service portal, causing inefficiencies in handling HR tasks such as leave requests, payslips, and rota updates. 

  • Disconnected HR systems, resulting in limited visibility into staff availability, time-off planning, and compliance with shift and labour regulations. 

  • Limited scalability due to disconnected systems, which hindered operational efficiency across their expanding multi-venue and international business model.
