Built on family, rooted in tradition.Thacker Caskets began in 1939 when Carl C. Thacker opened a small funeral supply business in Washington, D.C. Known for his personal touch and forward-thinking ideas — like photographing caskets for families to view — Carl laid the foundation for a company built on honesty and service. After his passing in 1981, his wife Audrey and son CJ grew the business beyond the D.C. area, opening new locations and eventually launching a full manufacturing facility in Florence, Alabama, in 2005, making Thacker the only U.S. casket maker to build both components and finished caskets under one roof.
Now three generations strong, Thacker Caskets stands as the largest family-owned funeral supply company in America. Though the business has grown, their promise remains the same: offer honest products, fair prices, and the kind of personal service you can only get from people who treat you like family.
