Bridging the gap: Translating cutting edge research into industrial applications
Founded in 2020 in Münster, Germany, Pixel Photonics produces highly specialized tech equipment with a multi-national team. The sensors they develop are able to detect even the smallest amount of light, making them essential solutions in the most demanding environments - from LiDAR Sensors to quantum computing.
Their former ERP solution proved unable to meet the demands of a quickly growing company and couldn't support core manufacturing processes. The constant synchronization between different in-house solutions wasted time and resources. Pixel Photonics started to intensively research different ERP programs and talked to a lot of different providers. The goal was to find a solution that fits their current needs as a small manufacturing company, but at the same time is able to support the growing process and is still a viable solution when the business expands.

All-for-One: Implementing Odoo with the help of a global community
Pixel Photonics decided on a gradual implementation process. At a Kick-Off Workshop the roadmap was developed and the scope of the project was laid out. After considering the current structure and the goals, they decided on an implementation plan.
Starting off with the CRM, Sales and Contact modules Pixel Photonics was able to structure their sales and business development pipeline effectively and transparently, laying the groundwork for an all encompassing database in their company.
Every change project is only successful if the people involved feel the progress and the value of the newly implemented software and don’t see the change as a burden. The Helpdesk Module and the E-Mail marketing module were therefore implemented when capacity allowed it. This helped with the acceptance and served as quick wins for the involved employees.
Another key factor for the success of transformation projects is training. Every user of the platform needs to quickly be able to use the software and find help easily, otherwise frustration hinders the implementation. Here, Pixel Photonics could rely on a huge array of online resources from the global Odoo community.

As a young company Pixel Photonics is still establishing a lot of processes.
