We are in the process of completely shifting to Odoo. The sales & production is starting up this week and we would like to create the invoices from Odoo as well without using the accounting module at this point. The accounting is still done in other software (Exact Online) and we would shift the accounting software as from January 1st, 2021 as this is our new fiscal year. 

However, now we can only create an invoice number if we actually book the invoice in the accounting, which is not the purpose. 

Only solution we have right now is book it, get an invoice number, download it as PDF, and then put it back into draft mode so it isn't booked. However, we cannot delete these draft invoices as they have been booked once already, which is a safety measure and a good thing in my opinion. 

However, I cannot believe we are the only company that wants to creates it invoices in Odoo based on the sales and production module, but still uses another bookkeeping software next to that.
