So, I've been reading through the docs, and I found a section in the Javascript Cheatsheet about creating a new view from scratch. The section gives a few basic examples about what could potentially be used to create a new view, but the explanations aren't in depth, and I can't really figure out how to do it by myself. 

Has anyone on the forums ever created a custom view on their own? If yes, then I'd love to have an example to read through and try to understand. Any help would be appreaciated.
