Anyone know how to set up scanning from sales order number?

interesting, I think we do need another app to get this working, wouldn't mind a bit of help implementing, we have set up serial breakdowns codes for products but when scanning the Sales order only a few lines would show? i noticed that only works when entering an order on the Quotation tab???

Yes, this is possible in Odoo using barcode/RF scanner workflows.
By default, Odoo supports barcode scanning mainly in Inventory operations, but scanning directly from a Sales Order number may require some configuration or a lightweight customization depending on your process flow and scanner type.
Typically, the Sales Order number is converted into a barcode, and scanning it can open or trigger the related picking/delivery operation automatically.

By default Odoo not provide this, you can go with third party(free + paid) apps are available on Odoo app store.
