Price Difference Account & Its impact on COGS

While attempting the new implementation of the Price Difference Account in V16 , I followed a specific sequence of operations in testing my use case as follows :

1- I purchased a product for 150 EGP & Received the full quantity

2- Then i Sold the full quantity at cost equal 150 EGP

3- I created customer invoice for this SO

4- Finally my vendor send me the PO Bill at unit price equal 170 (due to market changes in item price)

What Odoo Did:

1- it increased the stock valuation account & stock interim by 20 EGP

2- Stock Valuation Layer increased by 20 EGP

3- NO Impact Done on COGs Account ( it should be adjusted/increased by 20 as the actual product cost has been increased ) ,, as implemented in Landed Cost model

Dear Shabaan Asalam o Alaikum, though I am new to Odoo, but I think for landing cost function to do its thing the item in question first of all need to be set as a service and not a product ( I might be wrong) and when you create a new service item you will find the landing cost toggle on or off in the purchase tab of the newly created or existing service form - so yeah what I am saying is that from what it seems to me the product price variation shouldn't trigger the landing cost calculation - however other account settings need to be set up correctly to reflect the jump in the vendor quoted price. I myself am currently trying to set up a database for a local import company and looking into it further. Who knows where I end up and what I find :)

Hello,

1. Go to the product category of your purchased product

2. this account may be of type "current assets" Name it "price difference account", Note that this account will automatically be populated when there is a difference between when PO and BILL price

3. the BILL journal items will be like:

4. then go to Inventory App -> operations -> Landed costs -> create

note: make sure to activate the landed cost feature in the Inventory app Settings, The 4th step is essential since we have to adjust the Cost of the received products
choose the transfer add the landed cost

the inventory valuation will be updated for that product like:
