Hello Odoo community,
I am using Odoo v19 with Google Workspace as our email provider and I’m experiencing an issue with outgoing emails sent between employees.
Issue
When an employee sends a message (e.g. chatter message, internal communication, or email) from Odoo:
The sender name is correctly shown as the employee’s name
However, the sender email address is replaced with my email address (the SMTP login user), instead of the employee’s email
Example:
Employee Name myemail@company.com
Expected:
Employee Name employee@company.com
Environment
Odoo version: v19
Email provider: Google Workspace
Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com (TLS / 587)
Single outgoing mail server configured
All users have valid email addresses under the same domain (e.g. @company.com)
What we want
We want emails to be sent from each employee’s own email address, without needing to configure a separate outgoing mail server per user.
Questions
Is this the expected behaviour in Odoo v19 when using Google Workspace?
What is the recommended configuration to allow per-user “From” addresses with a single SMTP server?
Are there any specific Odoo v19 settings required to support Google Workspace “Send As” functionality?
Does Odoo require any additional configuration beyond setting the user email and From Filter?
