we have developed application in odoo 14 but the POS concepts and discussed better in odoo 15 so that we upgrade our system from oodoo 14. my application installed successfully in the odoo 15 ( some issues in jinja 2 we solved ). now i want to restore the data. i tried back up method unable to restore. kindly help me to solve the issues.

In Odoo, you cannot reliably restore an Odoo 14 database backup directly into Odoo 15 using the UI; the restore feature is intended for the same major version only.
The UI backup/restore mechanism is not an upgrade tool—it does not handle schema changes, removed fields, or refactored models introduced in Odoo 15.
Successfully installing your custom modules in Odoo 15 only validates the code compatibility, not the database structure or data.
To move data from Odoo 14 to Odoo 15, you must use an upgrade process (official Odoo upgrade service, OpenUpgrade, or a controlled migration), not a simple restore.
The correct approach is: keep your Odoo 14 database intact, upgrade it using a supported upgrade method, and then install your Odoo 15–ready custom modules on the upgraded database.
Trying to bypass the upgrade by restoring a v14 backup into v15 will always fail or produce inconsistent data; the issue is not POS or Jinja2-related but a version-incompatible restore attempt.
