Mit über 20.000 Mitgliedern gehört der BWE zu den weltweit größten Verbänden der erneuerbaren Energien. Der BWE setzt sich seit Jahren immer erfolgreicher für einen nachhaltigen und effizienten Ausbau der Windenergie in Deutschland und die bestmögliche Nutzung von Windstrom ein. Seine Fachreferenten arbeiten zudem in internationalen Verbänden wie der WindEurope, dem Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) und der World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) an der europäischen und weltweiten Entwicklung der Windenergie mit.

For years, the BWE has been increasingly successful in promoting the sustainable and efficient expansion of wind energy in Germany and the best possible use of wind power. Its expert advisors also work on the European and global development of wind energy in international associations such as WindEurope, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA).
