Many people may wonder what actually is milling? Well, the milling process is simpler than it sounds. It’s the process of cleaning a grain and crushing it into powder. It can then be mixed with other components to create pellets and other products such as vitamins.

For years, they've produced these products using their own formulas or tailored them to the needs of their customers without the use of any genetically modified organism (GMO).

With more than 250 animal feed components the company is the leader in the livestock food industry. Moreover, thanks to their large assortment, they are able to give advice and information regarding the food rations and their in house formulas. On top of the direct sales to the farmers, they also work with salesmen to sell components and raw products.

Milling Roosens was thankful enough to experience a constant economic growth. But a constant growth also came with a need for constant evolution of processes. The software that they had in place wasn’t able to keep up with the evolution. More complex situations had to be administratively followed and more controls needed to be implemented. A lot of manual tasks were needed to fulfill these tasks. Therefore, it became hard to effectively manage the company.

They were in desperate need of an ERP that would be able to manage the complexity of their business processes, and flexible enough to support future changes. They needed the ERP solution to easily adapt to them and not the other way around.

Odoo took care of centralizing the company’s data. Thanks to the input of purchases and sales, transactions are now updated online. The accounting as well as the production’s Bills of Materials were integrated in the logistical process. On top of that, Odoo also integrated the manufacturing process and the PLC in the production line. 

Thanks to the easier access of information in Odoo, analysis, controls and reports are more qualitative and efficient. With the same number of employees, they were able to better visualize their business management and have a clearer image of how to grow their business.
