After migrating to Odoo 19, I noticed that it is no longer possible to specify a start date when creating a task. Previously, this option was available, but now the UI has changed. Currently, only the deadline date are visible.
Is this the expected behavior in Odoo 19? Will this feature be reintroduced in future updates?

Hi,
In Odoo 19, while the direct "start date" field might not be immediately visible when creating a task, the functionality to specify a start date is still present and is accessed through the deadline field. When you click on the deadline, a calendar interface appears, which typically includes an option or icon to expand the date selection to define both a start and an end date, and even specific times. This change is a UI adjustment rather than a removal of the feature, as Odoo 19's Project module continues to support planned start dates for tasks, particularly evident in project templates and the Gantt view, which relies on both start and end dates for visualization. Therefore, the feature has not been removed and there's no indication it needs to be "reintroduced," as it's integrated into the current date picker mechanism.
Hope it helps
