In V19 Inventory - Operations - Physical Inventory - Last Counted field

This field is not available as a Custom Filter.

The need is to identify records that have not been counted recently.

The field appears to be a non-stored fields - so must be calculated from other fields?

Hello
Are you talking about which field? Last Count Date or Counted?

Hi,

The last_count_date field is a non-stored computed field, which is why it is not available in Odoo's custom filters. To make it searchable, the field must be redefined in a custom module with a search method (for example, search='_search_last_count_date'). The search method should replicate the field's computation logic by translating filter conditions into a query against the underlying stock_move_line data from which the value is calculated.

Hope it helps

Hello,

You are likely correct. If the Last Counted field in Physical Inventory is a non-stored computed field, Odoo will not make it available for custom filters, search views, or grouping.

To identify items that have not been counted recently, you would typically need to trace the date from the underlying inventory count/history records or add a stored field that captures the last count date and can be filtered.

The exact approach depends on how the field is computed in V19 and whether the required information already exists in the related inventory records.

Hope this works for you! If you need any help implementing this or want a more optimized approach, feel free to reach out for further discussion.

Yes, if a field is not available in Custom Filters, it is often because it is either:

  • A non-stored computed field (store=False), or

  • A field that does not define a search method.

In the case of Last Counted on the Physical Inventory view, Odoo calculates the value from the inventory adjustment history rather than storing it directly on the record. Because of this, it cannot be used directly in search domains or custom filters.

To identify products or locations that have not been counted recently, you can instead use the underlying inventory adjustment data. Depending on the model used in V19, the "Last Counted" value is typically derived from the latest inventory count date associated with the stock quantity (stock.quant).

A practical approach is to:

  • Add the "Last Counted" column to the list view and sort by it.

  • Create a custom stored field that captures the last inventory count date.

  • Or create a custom filter/report based on the inventory adjustment records that calculates the latest count date.

You can confirm whether the field is stored by enabling Developer Mode and inspecting the field definition in Settings → Technical → Database Structure → Fields. If store=False, that explains why it is unavailable as a custom filter.
