How to make some fields invisible when viewing the details of other employees?

Every field is configurable in user groups configuration. You can also edit some access rules or filters in the same menu...
If you are logged in as administrator, then all fields will be editable by you. Login to the system under a different user with lower permissions than administrator to see if that fixes your problem.
