Looking for some direction of how to best configure Odoo MRP for our use case. We are a metal fabricator / job shop that mostly makes unique one off products based on a customer's description, sketch, or drawings. As I'm getting familiar with Odoo, I've configured a product of "Custom Fabrication" in my list of products as it seems like it would be inefficient to create a new product for every customer widget we produce. However, creating a MO and WOs based on this Custom Fabrication product, I'm not seeing where I am able to specify any kind of reference for our operators to know what they are actually making. I'd like to be able to put in something like a drawing number or ticket number from a 3rd party system (not connected to Odoo) that tells them what needs made. Potentially I would upload these documents to Odoo if we try to go paper free down the road, but for now we print paper copies so just having that reference somewhere visible in the WO on Shop Floor would be sufficient. Can anyone point me in the right direction or know of any examples I can look at to configure Odoo for this type of work?

Since each MO would likely have a unique BoM, how are you handling that? Are you creating a blank MO and then basically building the BoM there, or are you creating a BoM and then selecting that BoM for that MO? There's a couple different options you may have here depending on how you want the flow to work. If you're manually creating the MO BoM, you may want to add a Studio field to the header where you can put the reference. If you're making a BoM for each build, then the BoM has an existing reference field you could use, or if you add an operation to the BoM, the work sheet will allow for the upload of a PDF or a text description field.
