A UK company has a single journal entry for salaries which are handled outside of Odoo, and usually will delete the bank transactions for individual salary payments, replacing it with a single bank transaction line to be reconciled to the journal entry. Confidentiality is an issue because the accounts admin team need to be able to access bank records for reconciliation of AR/AP but they should not be seeing individuals salary payments. This has worked fine in prior months, but this month, the bank feed has refreshed and resurrected the deleted transactions. Is this a known or familiar issue?

Hello,
This behavior can occur if the transactions still exist in the bank's feed source and the synchronization process identifies them as new or missing records during a refresh.
In Odoo, deleting imported bank transactions does not always prevent them from being re-imported if they are still available from the connected bank feed. It would be worth checking whether the feed connection, transaction identifiers, or synchronization settings have changed recently.
For confidentiality-sensitive transactions such as payroll, you may want to consider an alternative approach (e.g., dedicated journals, restricted access, or exclusion rules) rather than relying on deletion alone.
Hope this works for you! If you need any help implementing this or want a more optimized approach, feel free to reach out for further discussion.

Yes - known/expected, not a bug. Bank-feed lines belong to the sync; each refresh re-fetches a window from the
bank and re-creates any missing lines. Your deleted salary lines still exist at the bank, so the refresh brought
them back. It only worked before because earlier refreshes hadn't reached back that far.
Fix: Stop deleting. Route net wages through a payroll clearing account so the bank lines reconcile there (no per-employee detail), keep your single consolidated entry against that account, and use access rights/record rules to hide salary postings from the accounts team. That's the only approach that survives a feed refresh.
I hope this information helps you
