A user in OpenERP is someone who logs in to the system. A Product in OpenERP is something you buy from a Supplier or Manufacture or Sell to a Customer or ReImburse an Employee for paying for. So your question does not make sense. Which menu are you using when you want to assign a product? Be more descriptive.
