You’re not missing anything  this change in Odoo 19 is a bit confusing at first.

In v19, the old Contracts menu (hr.contract) is no longer there like in v18. Odoo moved that logic directly into the employee form under “Versions” (technical model hr.version).

So now instead of managing contracts from a separate menu, you handle everything inside the employee:

salary

working schedule

contract dates

updates over time

Each change creates a new “version”, which replaces the old contract history.

That’s why you don’t see the Contracts menu anymore in runbot or UI.

If you really need the old behavior (separate menu), it would require a small customization, but the standard flow in v19 is fully based on Versions now.

I've found hr.version, but found no mention to it anywhere, and the documentation is outdated so I was not keen to try it.

I should be able to continue with that.

Fix: hr.contract is renamed to hr.version in v19. Contract fields are now directly on the Employee form as "Versions" (wage, schedule, contract dates, etc.). No separate Contracts menu exists.
