cannot find "mail" module

Question

Hi all,
i want to install module "email template" to send mail from code but it depend "mail" module , and however need install "mail" befor install "mail template" but i can't find "mail" module every where.
help me! thank all !

The *mail* module is a standard module, installed with the software.

Either

the software was not installed properly and is missing a branch
OpenERP cannot find the module because * addons_path *has not been specified properly
