I have created a module with a custom payment provider and method to use my own payment QR codes. The example I followed was the Demo Payment module.

Unfortunately, I just can't figure out how to override the system QR code generation. No matter what I do, I always get the same QR code as in the Demo payment method.

I know something has been changed recently, but even with the hintneither I nor ChatGPT nor Claude could figure out how to do it.

It feels, like the checkout simply ignores my payment method settings and always uses the default QR.

The only slightly related issue I found is this, but no answer.
