Hello everyone !


I am starting a rental business with the e-shop platform. I found the interface quite easy to understand in how to manage stocks, edit the rental periods, prices ... (Except to hide prices eh...)


I wonder if it is possilbe to change the "add to cart" button to "att to quote" one, to allow customers to generate a quote instead of an order, which will be sent to my professionnal e-mail. I tried to edit it but i only have few knowldeges in development.

Hello Dorian Viaud,

We are in a similar situation as yours, since we want to hide our products' prices and have customers request a quotation before renting our products.

We've found a solution for hiding prices on the website while still having them in the backend. For that, we've used a custom SCSS (CSS) ruleset with the HTML/CSS editor in Website > Site > HTML/CSS editor, then select SCSS (CSS) instead of XML (HTML). With this method, you will be able to specify rules for HTML elements containing the prices' values and labels, so that they can be hidden (among many other things you can do). Please note that these hidden elements will remain in the HTML's website structure, meaning that they can be found by users if they inspect the website's pages with browser devtools.

Using this method, you will have to enable Wire Transfer as a payment provider for your website, and then to duplicate it in the payment method section and rename it to "generate a quote", or what have you. However, once it's done, you might not want to leave the checkout as it is, because a lot of texts and labels refer to a payment rather than a quotation. For these, you can edit them via the "Edit" button in the Website module, or hide them using SCSS (CSS) rulesets. Please note that the customer will still see the prices by downloading the quote they generated at the end of the checkout, but also on their customer's portal (if you enabled that on you website) and the automated email that is sent to their email address after the checkout. We haven't found a way to remove prices from quotes, so we've simply hid the download button with SCSS (CSS), disabled the ability for customers to create an account and heavily edited the email template.
