hello All,


I am wondering what Odoo is capable of in term of consolidation of multi company. I have seen we can create multi company, multi currency and multi chart of account and some group account mapping. 


but what odoo is really capable when it come to consolidation ? 

  • elimination of intercomany transaction (revenue in company A related to company B to be éliminated with cost in B company for cost coming from company A)
  • Elimination of dividend 
  • elimination by treshold, example : elimiation at Swiss holding level and elimination at group level ?
  • intercompany adjustement ? (intra profit cancellation)
  • ledger local + tax ledger for statutory tax and IFRS ledger for IFRS adj
  • conversion of all ledger in local currency to group account with group account fx rate

Can it be done properly in Odoo or we are back to spreadsheet or need an separate system to report number and perform the consolidation

Hello Mourad,

Odoo does support multi-company, multi-currency, and basic consolidation features (including account mapping and group-level reporting). However, when it comes to advanced consolidation requirements like:

  • Intercompany eliminations (revenue/cost, dividends, intra-profit)
  • Multi-level or threshold-based eliminations
  • IFRS-specific adjustments with separate ledgers
  • Automated currency conversion using group FX rates

these are not fully covered out-of-the-box.

In standard Odoo, some of this can be handled through configuration and manual journal entries, but for a robust and fully compliant consolidation (especially IFRS), you would typically need:

  • Customization within Odoo, or
  • Integration with a dedicated consolidation/reporting tool

So yes, it can be done in Odoo to a certain extent, but for complex group structures and compliance needs, a more tailored approach is usually required.
