I manage a business with multiple warehouses across the country. Similarly, several of our customers have multiple delivery addresses. I'm looking to streamline our logistics by setting up a system where each warehouse automatically ships to designated customer delivery addresses. For instance:

  • Warehouse 1 should always ship to Customer Delivery Addresses 1 and 2.
  • Warehouse 2 should automatically ship to Customer Delivery Address 3.
  • Warehouse 3 is designated for Customer Delivery Addresses 4, 5, and 6.


The key requirement is automation. I want to eliminate the need for users to manually select the shipping warehouse for each order. The system should automatically determine the correct warehouse based on the customer's delivery address.


Is such a configuration possible in Odoo ERP? If yes, could you provide guidance or steps on how to set this up? Specific details on any required customizations or settings within Odoo would be greatly appreciated.

Hi rleal,

If you want to do it with Odoo standard configurations, there is something you can use:

  • define three different "customer locations" and assign these locations in the related delivery route > rules!
  • For each customer, you have most probably different delivery addresses. Open these contacts and in development mode, you will find two fields for customer and vendor locations. Select the right customer location as you created above.
  • Now test it, it should work. :)

Hello,

To manage your requirements, customization needs to be applied. Here are the steps:

  1. Select the warehouse for each delivery address. This ensures that when a sales order is generated for a customer, the warehouse is automatically chosen from the customer's delivery address.
  2. Set up the zip code in each delivery address. Additionally, configure the country and zip code settings within the warehouse. This configuration will enable the automatic selection of the warehouse inside the order based on the zip code.
