Let’s imagine, you sell products to small shops but also to big supermarkets. In order to ease your sales process, you decided to create a website so your clients can replenish directly from themselves and you don’t have to manually create every order.

Your usual delivery fee is 50€ if you don’t buy more than 200€.

But for big supermarkets, you made an agreement that there would never be delivery fee.

In 19.1, this is not possible to limit and define a specific delivery method on a contact when buying on the website. But here is a workaround :

The 3 fields in standard that allow you to restrict the visibility of a delivery method are “Countries”, “States” and “Zip Prefixes”

As “States” are not displayed by default on reports for Belgium, I will use that field. So it will be invisible for client. I will create a “State” named “BIG SUPERMARKET”, but you can of course name it the way you want so it’s not sounding like really something made up.

Let’s now create our custom delivery method :

If I’m a small shop and have only my country set, I will pay 50€ delivery fee if I’m not above 200€

But if I have my country and the State set as BIG SUPERMARKET, then I can see the free delivery and I can select it :

Things to consider :

You could also do this with the zip code.

This workaround could have some breaches if a customer select the state/zip that you created. Even if normally he should have no reason to.

To prevent this you could only allow account creation on the website by invitation and limit shop visibility to signed up users. So you can put the created State by yourself upfront.

You could also create an automation to get a warning if a customer select your created State.
