Windows packaging is offered for the convenience of testing or running single-user local instances but production deployment is discouraged due to a number of limitations and risks associated with deploying Odoo on a Windows platform.

In addition, because it is highly customized for Linux servers, the multi-processing server is not available on Windows.  This limits the ability of Odoo on Windows to support more than ~6 concurrent Users (although some experts in our Partner community have reported they have managed to trick out a server and get around ~30 concurrent Users happily supported).

Python, the underlying scripting language in which Odoo is written, is also reported to run slower on Windows.
