I am experimenting with variants and have found that when I have a single attribute on a product template (either having had more than one and then removing them or after having created teh template and only added a sigle attribute initially) that these cannot be "selected" or even seen in the sale order for the salesperson, for the client in the online preview or in the product lists. 

In this event if the attribute characteristic is not written into the product description then there is no way of knowing it is there. 

Am I missing something? 

Is it possible to have a single attribute visible as a variant, even though it is the only choice? 

I have checked and odoo is not reactivating the "dummy" (product.product) variant that is created when the template is created. If you have two variants and you remove an attribute from the template suddenly the attribute value is no longer visible on the variant - as if it were a dummy.
