Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC) was set up by the World Bank in 2018 and supported by the Office of the Vice President with the mandate to lead and drive the growth of the Nigerian green economy in both the private and public sectors.
NCIC since its inception has bifurcated the Nigerian green economy into 4 core thematic areas of focus which are-Renewable Energy, Waste Management (Circularity), Smart Agric and Innovation in Water. To achieve this mandate, NCIC has established its footprint in the areas of providing and building capacity for institutions within and outside Nigeria in the areas of climate change and the need to build a sustainable economy, steered towards a more viable future across all sectors, while using Nigeria as a case study.
NCIC’s goal is to unlock opportunities and enhance the sectoral value chain towards a sustainable Green Economy in Nigeria.
