I have 2 inventory account for my company:

  1. Inventory Raw Materials
  2. Inventory Finished Goods

I've produce all the Manufacturing order, and in the Inventory it's also showing that all my raw materials is consumed, and the finished goods stock is increaseed.


But why on the balance sheet, I still saw my Inventory Raw Materials got a balance. It is supposed to be 0, sinced I've produced all the raw materials? there's a diference in Inventory and Accounting . Anyone can help?

Hello Ronald,

If the raw materials have been fully consumed but the Inventory Raw Materials account still shows a balance on the Balance Sheet, the issue is usually related to inventory valuation and accounting entries, not the stock quantities themselves.

A few things to check:

  • Verify your product categories and inventory valuation configuration.
  • Review the journal entries generated by the Manufacturing Orders.
  • Check whether any inventory adjustments, receipts, or historical transactions are still posting value to the Raw Materials account.
  • Confirm the costing method being used (FIFO, AVCO, or Standard Cost), as valuation differences can remain even when quantities reach zero.

If the inventory quantities are correct but accounting balances differ, reviewing the stock valuation report against the related accounting entries should help identify the discrepancy.
