User can't receive Mail in Odoo 19

Question

I just set up Odoo 19 with docker, configured the alias domain and added an incoming mail server. When I try to send a mail to an Odoo user I get this message in the log:

ValueError: No possible route found for incoming message from "Sender" <any@where.com> to user@recipient.domain (Message-Id <#####>:). Create an appropriate mail.alias or force the destination model.

The documentation doesn't give any hint on how to set this up. They are only writing about aliases for groups/teams. But no word about how to communicate with single Odoo users.

What is missing in the config? The software should have all the info it needs.

Odoo should know where to put the mail because the mail recipient and the mail address of the user are identical. I definitely want to avoid to have to configure an alias for every single user.
I don't understand the Odoo documentation about the Catch-All concept in Odoo. Catch-All is just a setting on a mailbox. The phrase "catchall" is not meant to be used in mail addresses. It just means that mails from a mailbox should be assigned according to the TO header field inste

Hi Zorgoban,
The error happens because Odoo doesn’t know where to put the incoming email. Odoo doesn’t automatically send emails to individual users you need a  mail alias .
What to do>
Go to ( *Settings => Technical => Email => Aliases* )  and create an alias for the user (link it to their partner).
Or use a  catchall email  in Incoming Mail Servers so Odoo can handle emails from anyone.
Make sure your mail server settings are correct and the domain matches the alias.
